About
VIVATIS-Group, together with the LIMAK Austrian Business School, is looking for new innovative ideas for two leading brands of its subsidiary Maresi Austria GmbH – Maresi and Knabber Nossi .
This innovation contest aims to generate innovative ideas for a successful further development of the two brands Maresi and Knabber Nossi, and their product-portfolio. We invite all participants to think about how new customer needs can be satisfied with innovative concepts, how the brand awareness of both product-portfolios can be improved, and how existing and new target audiences and market segments can be addressed.
The possibility of contribution is quite open: Which products do you want to find on supermarket shelves in the future? How could current products be improved? How should the design look like, and which target groups and costumer need to be addressed?

What are we looking for?
The focus is on your idea regarding to promising products of Knabber Nossi and Maresi. Your innovative concepts and ideas can either be designed for Maresi or for Knabber Nossi.
Following elements should be considered:- Consumer Insight: Which consumer needs are answered by the idea?
- Conzept: How would you describe your idea? What does it look like? (ideally supported by scribbles, drawings, illustrations, 3D rendering or sketches)
- USP/product advantage: What differentiates your idea from existing products on the market?
- Target group: Which target audience is addressed by the new product? (regarding demography, living conditions, attitude, product use)
- Source of volume: In which competitive environment is the product placed and where is the amount coming from? (increasing use, substitution of existing products)
- Retail perspective: Why is it attractive for the trade to list the product additionally or to exchange existing products?
You can submit your idea in following dimensions:
- Concept description (e.g. innovative marketing-, product-, packaging-, positioning-, sales-concept, new Business model, etc.)
- picture/graphic with a short explanation and motivation of the idea
The documents have to be uploaded on www.innovation-community.net for a first evaluation.
Terms and Conditions
We are looking forward to your proposals for new product- and marketing ideas as well as sale increasing innovations for the brands Knabber Nossi and Maresi.
Therefore you can design your contributions with graphical material, descriptions and videos. The more detailed you describe your idea the better is thepossibility of winning the contest.
In addition following specifications can be uploaded:
- Entire concepts (e.g. innovative marketing-, product-, packaging-, positioning-, sales-concept, new Business model, etc.)
- pictures, videos, graphics
Please be aware of the accepted file types before uploading your images and files.
Requirements for participation at the contest
The requirements for the participation and the possibility to win the prices (Scholarship for the MBA-program: Innovation and Product Management/ Scholarship for the IN.TENSIVE certificate course Innovation and Product Management at the LIMAK Austrian Business School) are:
An academic degree and a minimum of three years of professional experience or a qualification through business experience, that is similar to an academic degree. In addition a successful interview is required. This will be hold at the Hearing in Linz (Austria)! (also see: Selection Process)
As the programs of further education (MBA-program and IN.TENSIVE certificate course) are mainly in German language, the applicants have to speak German.

Evaluation Criteria
The evaluation of the Ideas and the allocation/awarding of the winners will be carried out by the Jury. These are the key-criteria:
- How does the idea fit with the core positioning of the brand and does it help to strengthen this?
- How innovative is the idea in relation to the existing product-range and to the users?
- For Maresi: How big is the cannibalization of existing Maresi products?
For retailing: which additional value can be created for retailers? - How big is the effort to develop, produce and to bring the new product to the market?
- Depth of the considerations and overall quality of the submission.
Registered Users have the opportunity to comment the submitted concepts and to share their opinion. The following criteria should be considered:
- Market attractiveness
- Feasibility
- Degree of innovation
- Presentation of the idea
The Selection Process
The ideas can be submitted on the platform www.innovation-community.net. In order to do this, you have to register and upload your Idea.
The selection and evaluation of the ideas, as well as the determination of the winners is being carried out solely by the jury in a two-stage program.
- Step: All submitted ideas get evaluated.
- Step: Top-applicants (with promising ideas) get invited to a face-to-face hearing in Linz (Austria), where they have about 10-15 minutes to give a detailed presentation of their idea..
